Beauty and the beast (2017)

Anyone who's anyone has probably at some point in their lives seen Disney's animated classic Beauty and the Beast. Well, for a while Disney had decided to remake their beloved classics into Live Actions. Personally i find this to be a lack of creativity, and if Emma wasn't playing Belle i probably wouldn't have watched it.
So with that in mind, i'll start with the good bits. Emma carried Belle off really well, yes she does put her own spin on the character, but everything she does suits Belle. She gives a even more sassy performance, especially around Gaston, played by Luke Evans. She pits Beast in his place and doesn't take any crap with him, which of course the original Belle did in the original, but it appears to be overlooked...anyway her performance is solid and consistant, and she does the character justice. She looks gorgeous in the yellow dress, though i will say they could have done better, yes she can run in it, but the grandness is missing.
Now for the bad bits... not so much with Emma's performance, but the others. Dan stevens is a terrific actor, but the Beast is now a snotty man-child who just wines all the time, about how rich he is, and how unfair everything is. Even when he changes there's still that arrogance about him. And the re-design is a big no for me, he's too human the Beast element has gone. The poor household objects got it wore, Emma Thompson did a cracking performance as Mrs Potts but the designs for them were absolutely horrible.
The new songs added were ok, Emma's vocals were amazing. And despite the Beasts bad appearance id od enjoy his song Evermore, it's a shame it never made it to the animated film.
Though again, the Beast randomly singing seemed so out of place, whereas his cry of anguish in the original was spine tingling.
The ending was beautifully done, and i appreciated bringing in the deleted lyrics from Beauty and the Beast Original score by the great late Howard Ashman. He died just before the original films release which is heartbreaking.
To the man who gave a mermaid her voice and a beats his soul, i'm forever grateful for the films that shaped my childhood.
Overall, it was ok, i saw it in the theatres, and as ok as it was, even with Emma, its unfortunately one of the least watched films that Emma has starred in for me. If i want to watch Beauty and the Beast i'll watch the 1991 classic.
